Appearance: Her piercing green eyes are usually the first thing someone notices about Sarah. Couple that with her pale, blemish-free skin and long, dark brown hair and you've got an amazingly beautiful eighteen year old. She's not exactly tall at five foot seven, but she's not short, either. Slender, with some curves, she'd turn heads if not for her altered mental state. When she was younger, she wore loafers, jeans, and a loose-sleeved blouse under a nice vest. For the past three years, she'd been wearing the light green-blue, hospital-like scrubs of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center.

Personality: Before the events of her traveling to the Labyrinth to save her half-brother, Sarah was not quite your average fifteen year old. She was obsessed with fantasy, everything from "Where the Wild Things Are" to whatever play her estranged mother was in at the moment. Sometimes, she can act very childish, exclaiming, "It's not fair!" Sarah can also be very impulsive, blurting out things she regrets almost instantly. Her time in Kings Park has jaded her lucid periods, causing the young woman to stop smiling. She has no reason to. When it comes to her interactions with people, it could go one of a few ways. With her father and stepmother, she's very harsh and quick to judgement, playing up the "teenager" role. With people of authority, she's very much the same way, not agaisnt throwing a tantrum of some kind.

Abilities/Strengths: Sarah is human with human strength and endurance. She can pick up the average amount of weight for someone her height and weight, and throw things a normal distance. Her logic, however, is keen and she's used it to get herself out of a situation or two while she was in the Labyrinth. She's fiercely loyal, and ready to forgive if ever her friends do her wrong. When she's given a task, she's dedicated to finishing it no matter what. And when another is threatened, whether it be a friend or someone that is weaker than the threatening person, she is courageous and stands up for the threatenee.

Weaknesses: Sarah is your average human, so she gets injured and sick like everyone else. Being not of sound mind, Sarah is very easy to anger or fear. She will, very easily, begin to panic and even lash out if triggered by a bad memory or emotion. Visual triggers are also a worry. She is almost deathly afraid of peaches and can't stand being outdoors in an area where the bushes are taller than her.

History: Sarah Williams was born in 1970 to Linda and Robert Williams. At a young age, her mother, Linda was lured away by a fellow actor, and abandoned Robert and Sarah. Hurt by her mother's abandonment, Sarah withdrew herself into the world of fantasty, keeping to herself. Her mother wrote nearly seven times a year at first, sending playbills and scripts of the plays she was in. But soon, the scripts stopped, the playbills stopped, and the letters stopped. Sarah delved further into herself, being picked on in school for dressing 'weird' and reading books that the other kids didn't even know about. Her bedroom became her world, keeping all she wanted within arm's reach. Much to her horror, when she was around twelve, her father started dating a woman named Irene. In Sarah's mind, that was the worst thing her father could have possibly done. He wasn't happy with Sarah, he had gone out and met a woman. A woman that was not Sarah's mother. Within a year, they were married. Not long after, Toby was born.

One evening, Robert and Irene had planned on going to dinner then a late movie and they'd requested that Sarah be home by six. Her homemade princess costume on, her favorite book in hand, she dismissed her stepmother with a "I will!" before slamming the door behind her, her sheepdog, Merlin, following close behind. In the park, she wasn't Sarah Williams, she was a beautiful princess, whose stepbrother had been taken by the dreaded and ethereally handsome Goblin King. So caught up in her book, she didn't pay attention to the time, until the clock struck seven. Just her luck, as the clock tower went off, it began to rain. Rushing home, Sarah was greeted at the front door by her stepmother, who ordered Merlin into the the garage. After an argument with Irene, she stormed up to her room, biting off a bitter remark to her father on the way up. Her father and stepmother left and Sarah realized Irene had gone into her room, grabbing one of her favorite stuffed animals for her half-brother to sleep with. Furious, Sarah rushed into the room Toby shared with her father and Irene, pulling the teddy bear from the crib, hugging it to her chest. Poor Toby stood in the crib and cried and Sarah couldn't take it anymore. She began to tell her baby half-brother the story of the Labyrinth, picking him up and holding him in the air as she said the words that would get the goblins to take him away.

It didn't work, of course. That's just silly. As Toby continued to cry, she wished she did know what to say. And almost by an epiphany, she knew. "I wish the goblins would come and take you away...right now," were her words as she turned off the light, moving to exit the room. Toby's sobbing ceased and Sarah immediately stopped, turning back. Checking on him, she found he was no longer in his crib. Strange noises filled the room and a snowy white owl flapped at the french doors. The doors burst open with a blast of wind and the goblin king stood before her in all his glory. Immediately regretting her decision, she begged for her brother. Jareth, the king of the goblins, gave her a chance to retrieve her brother. With a mere swirl of his cloak, they were in the Underground, standing before his massive labyrinth. She had thirteen hours to reach the center of the labyrinth or Toby would be transformed into a goblin and remain in the Underground forever.

With help from her newfound friends, and an amazing amount of luck, Sarah reached the castle, confronting Jareth. At one point, the furious king said that he had been generous up til then, but he could be cruel. Sarah mocked him, rising the Goblin King's ire and the world spun, Sarah falling into an oubilette. Jareth stood at the entrance, glaring down at her. "You should have listened to the dwarf. Once you get to the center of my Labyrinth, you never get out again," he said before the lid closed, encasing Sarah in darkness.

Sarah and Toby returned home, but Sarah's mind had been cursed. She found herself seeing goblins everywhere, causing havoc. When Robert or Irene asked her about it, she blamed the goblins, babbling on about them. She grew hysterical when no one believed her. Her father soon had no other choice but to institutionalize her, three months after her run-in with the Goblin King. She was sent to the Kings Park Psychiatric Center in Kings Park, New York and that became her home for three years. Her father visited occasionally. Once, he even brought Toby with him. But when Sarah had seen her half-brother, she'd let off a shriek like she'd seen a ghost. Then, much like her mother had before, her father visited less and less. Leaving Sarah alone.
